Suchitoto Free Walking Tour
Now like in many cities around the world, Suchitoto has its own Free Walking tour. Since early 2025 Gringo Tours has developed and today offers a simple, short (40 to 60 minutes) walking tour which is very interesting and covers much of Suchitoto’s history, culture and infrastructure.
Like all free walking tours our is tip based and has some restrictions. The main requirement is a formal reservation via our WhatsApp number at +(503) 7860-9435, we also require a minimum group size of two, but don’t let that stop you from reserving, our tour is becoming so popular that today it is very common to have two or more interested in signing up most days.
Description of our Free Walking Tour
This is Free Walking Tour of Suchitoto is a shortened version of our two-hour paid tour which has a minimum cost of $75.00 for groups of 1 to 3 people, and our three-hour premium walking tour which has a minimum cost of $150.00 for groups of 1 to 3 people.
This free tour based on voluntary tipping lasts between 40 and 60 minutes and includes four key stops. 1) The central plaza, church and portals, 2) The San Martin Park with views and history of the Cerrón Grande Reservoir also commonly known as Lake Suchitlan, 3) The Art Center for Peace, with option to see museum with entrance fee (donation) of $2:00\person and 4) a walk through our municipal market.
Our guides are from the rural communities of Suchitoto so we do need a firm commitment to ask them to come into town for each tour. Our current main guide Kevin is in his last year studying International Business so your tips help him reach his goal of graduating.
Our free walking tour can be reserved seven days a week but is always dependent on our guides availability and their personal schedules as many are university students and only work for us on days they have no classes or semester breaks.
We now offer tours most days at 9:30 am and 11:00 am. For larger groups we can arrange the tour at any time from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.
